ICANN Publishes FY22 Q2 Unaudited Financial Results

9 February 2022

Today, both the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) published their unaudited financial results through the second quarter of fiscal year 2022 (FY22).

ICANN's financial position remains as strong as it has been for the past several quarters. Funding through December 2021 is higher than the previous year's actual funding and the current year's budgeted funding, driven by the growth of domain name registrations. Expenses are lower than budgeted, predominantly due to limited travel caused by travel restrictions, ICANN72 being held virtually, and lower than planned headcount.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
