The Secretary General of the ITU, Dr Hamadoun Touré, will attend ICANN's Lisbon meeting this Friday, 30 March.
This is the first time that a Secretary General of the ITU has attended an ICANN meeting.
"We are delighted that Secretary General Touré has decided to come to this meeting, especially so early in his term," said ICANN's President and CEO Dr Paul Twomey.
Secretary General Touré took up his position in January 2007.
