ICANN Publishes Fiscal Year 2024 Third Quarter Management Financial Results

15 May 2024

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has published its fiscal year 2024 (FY24) third quarter (Q3) management financial results. ICANN has also published the FY24 Q3 management financial results for its Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) affiliate.

Funding through March 2024 is slightly higher than budget and flat to the previous year through the same period.

ICANN Operations expenses through March 2024 are higher than budgeted and compared to the same period last year primarily due to higher than planned costs related to the Community and Engagement activity. This was driven by higher than planned costs for ICANN78, ICANN79, community programs, and support of meetings other than ICANN Public Meetings. Inflationary increases to travel and venue costs were the primary drivers for this variance.

Year-to-date, ICANN Operations has a deficit compared to budget because the unfavorable variance in expenses exceeds the favorable variance in funding.

ICANN quarterly financial results include ICANN Operations and other segments like the New Generic Top-Level Domain Program, the ICANN Grant Program, and projects funded by the Supplemental Fund for the Implementation of Community Recommendations. These results and other financial documents are available on the ICANN Financial and Planning Information page and the PTI Financial Information page.

About ICANN

ICANN's mission is to help ensure a stable, secure, and unified global Internet. To reach another person on the Internet, you need to type an address – a name or a number – into your computer or other device. That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN helps coordinate and support these unique identifiers across the world. ICANN was formed in 1998 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with a community of participants from all over the world.
